Thin as tissue and nearly fluorescent underwater, its perforated, ruffled blades turn current into motion. It is the strongest first culture candidate here: fast-growing, visually immediate, and available as a cool-water UK strain.

The dress stays underwater, so emersion and handling fragility matter less than stable attachment, temperature, nutrient balance, and how the thallus moves in flow. Introduced species remain grouped as design candidates, with containment built into the plan: no release, no untreated discharge, and sealed disposal of trimmings.
